Ohio University Eastern Spring Science Scholarship Event

High school juniors, seniors, or those interested in a science degree are invited to a virtual visitation event titled Science Scholarship and Lab Demo at Ohio University Eastern Campus on Thursday, April 15 at 4 PM. During the Science Scholarship event, our science faculty will live stream demonstrations in the anatomy and physiology cadaver lab, new nursing lab and chemistry labs. These demos will provide insight into the revered laboratories on campus offered to those studying nursing, pre- physical therapy, pre-physician assistant, and pre-veterinary science. “Laboratories are a crucial component in the development of critical thinking and problem- solving skills,” explains chemistry Professor Dr. Lenczewski. “Rather than just memorizing facts, students are able to explore the science, hands-on, to allow for deeper understanding of scientific concepts.” The virtual event will also feature academic department information sessions, financial aid information, and will culminate with a drawing from those in attendance for 4 $1,000 scholarships to be used during the fall semester 2021. “By blending our location, affordability, and high-quality education, many students find the Eastern Campus of Ohio University fits their needs entirely,” explains Recruitment Coordinator Lisa Jeffries. “This time of year, for seniors can be exciting and stressful all at the same time. Many students who have applied to schools may be getting their financial aid letters now. It can be difficult for students and parents to wrap their heads around the Expected Family Contribution, cost of going to college and then multiply it by 4, 6 or 8 years.
